Bowling has been a favorite family activity for quite some time, and for good reason. It’s something that every member of your family will love. After all, typically, anyone over three years old can do it. And it’s the perfect option for any occasion, from rainy days to birthday parties.

But when your family decides to go bowling, you’ll want to make sure you can find a place that is kid-friendly and that offers different amenities for families. This includes being extra accommodating for younger bowlers and having dining options for when everyone gets hungry. Luckily, modern bowling alleys have been updated with the latest technology and other extras to make for a family bowling experience that’s more fun than ever before. Read on to find some suggestions for family-friendly bowling alleys in the Seattle area.

West Seattle Bowl

West Seattle Bowl was first established in 1948 and has been a favorite place for Seattle area family bowling ever since. But they’ve made sure to keep up with the times, which includes technology that makes their bowling alley even more kid-friendly.

If you’re bowling and your family gets hungry, head over to their restaurant, Highstrike Grill. Open since 2011, the restaurant has a kids’ menu with classic choices, such as grilled cheese and chicken fingers. The rest of the menu has a variety of other delicious options that different family members will enjoy. Hightstrike Grill also has an expansive breakfast menu, including cocktails for adults. Go on Sundays to take advantage of the Breakfast & Bowling deal, where you can buy any breakfast entrée and get two free games of bowling!

West Seattle Bowl participates in the Kids Bowl Free program, a deal for bowling families where kids can bowl two free games a day all summer long. You can also have bowling birthday parties there, with two different packages available. One is recommended for children four to eight years old, and the other for nine years old and above.

TechCity Bowl

Located in Kirkland, TechCity has special events and promotions for bowling families throughout the year. It’s one of the few bowling alleys in the Seattle area where kids can participate in Cosmic-X Bowl. Cosmic-X is a very popular event where bowling is paired with live music from a DJ, black lights, prizes, and even fog machines. And at TechCity, kids can join in the fun, as long as they are at least five years old. But Cosmic-X usually sells out fast, so be sure to make a reservation in advance!

In addition to the large 32-lane bowling alley, TechCity also has two pool tables, an arcade, and free Wi-Fi.

Lynnwood Bowl and Skate

At Lynnwood Bowl and Skate, you’ll find a 24-lane bowling alley, a roller-skating rink, and an arcade! The bowling alley includes bumpers and ball ramps for younger family members, and Lynnwood also participates in the Kids Bowl Free program.

When it’s time to eat, you can try the family pizza special. For kids, there’s a mini menu of favorites, such as mini corndogs, nachos, and cheeseburger sliders. Lynnwood also has special bowling birthday packages, which can include cool extras like black lights and flashing lights, and the website also provides birthday invitations you can download.

Round1 Bowling & Amusement

Located in the Westfield Southcenter shopping center, this bowling alley with a family-friendly atmosphere offers 14 Lanes, electric bumpers, dinosaur ramps, and kid-sized bowling balls. Other family bowling accommodations include a Kids Members Club, which takes 50 percent off games and shoes. Your family can also enjoy the private karaoke rooms, billiard tables, and the huge arcade with a ton of games. It can also be a venue for kids’ parties, as long as there are at least 10 guests. And there’s food for everyone to enjoy, plus beer and wine for the adults.

Tukwila Family Fun Center and Bullwinkle’s Restaurant

Bowlwinkle Lanes is our brand-new 16-lane bowling alley! Since it’s the newest bowling alley in the Seattle area, you can be sure everything about it is state-of-the-art and in great shape. Bowlwinkle Lanes is high-tech, with automatic bumpers, huge screens at each lane, and lights that move with the music. We also have cool unique bowling balls that resemble billiard balls.

Bowling is also one of the attractions you can include in group or birthday packages. This includes a VIP Bowling Space party, which provides shoes for 30 guests, a 2-hour reservation, 2 tables complete with birthday decorations, 3 pizzas, and unlimited soda for the first hour.

In addition to bowling, Bullwinkle’s has attractions both indoors and outdoors, including the Kidopolis Playground, the arcade, two miniature golf courses, go karts, laser tag, bumper cars, and more. When it’s time to eat, head over to our restaurant, which has all kinds of delicious options. This includes specialty pizzas, sandwiches and wraps, burgers, and platters. The kids’ menu has favorites such as chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, and mini corn dogs. For dessert, make your own sundae, or your family can share a churro or molten lava cake platter.

You can trust that our employees are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with young children. Additional amenities include free Wi-Fi, and Bullwinkle’s is wheelchair accessible as well. You can find more information about Bowlwinkle Lanes and the rest of our Family Fun Center on our website.

As you can see, there are a number of options throughout the Seattle area, so you’re sure to find one no matter where you live. These are just a few suggestions, and there are even more out there. And all of the bowling alleys just keep getting better and better. Maybe you and your family can try a few different ones, and then pick a favorite! We hope everyone in your family will soon be looking forward to enjoying a full day of bowling and more fun activities together!
