The bumper cars here have been described by one visitor as a “hybrid of bumper cars + lacrosse + basketball.” Part game, part sporting event, Whirlyball adds up to a whole lot of fun.
While riding bumper cars is usually a solo adventure, Whirlyball is a team effort. You’ll be divided into two teams, and you’ll work together to score the most points in the game. Using a ball and scoop, you’ll try to launch the ball through a backboard net. You can also pass the ball to a teammate to take a shot, just like you would in basketball. Points are awarded based on your distance from the backboard when the shot is made. Be wary of penalty points, though. If you don’t follow the game’s rules, your score could be docked.

Sprinker Recreation Center
Who says bumper cars can only be a warm-weather activity? At Sprinker Recreation Center, you can enjoy bumper cars on ice! In fact, you can be one of the first to take a spin on the rec center’s new ice bumper cars when they open in late May 2019. Other localities have experimented with ice bumper cars in the past, and they’ve proven to be quite the attraction.
The ice bumper cars spin a full 360 degrees, so bump into one, and you can send someone flying across the ice! Ages six and older are able to ride alone in an ice bumper car. Ages three to five can ride as a passenger with an adult operator. This experience definitely amounts to a cool ride. Pacific Paradise Family Fun Center
You’ll have to travel a little farther for it, but if you’re in the mood for a weekend getaway and want to experience another twist on the bumper car tradition, we recommend checking out Pacific Paradise Family Fun Center. Once you’ve experienced bumper cars on ice, the next logical step would be to test out the waters, of course. This family fun center allows you to do that by splashing around in its boat bumper cars.
In fact, you’ll be splashing around in quite a bit of water. The boat bumper cars are located in a lake with 90,000 gallons of water to be exact.
